ABOLISHING THE PRESIDENTIAL TASK FORCE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF LUNGSOD SILANGAN AND INTER-AGENCY TASK FORCE ON SOCIALIZED HOUSING IN MANGGAHAN FLOODWAY AND TRANSFERRING THEIR POWERS AND FUNCTIONS TO THE PRESIDENTIAL COMMISSION ON THE MANILA-RIZAL-LAGUNA-QUEZON (MARILAQUE) GROWTH CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, the Presidential Commission for the Manila-Rizal-Laguna-Quezon (MARILAQUE) Growth Corridor was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 197 dated 29 August 1994 to prepare an integrated development plan for the growth area encompassing agri-industry, housing, tourism, environmental protection, water supply, power generation, natural resources, and other investment opportunities, among others;
WHEREAS, the Presidential Task Force for the Development of Lungsod Silangan was created under Administrative Order No. 120 dated 03 March 1994 to oversee, facilitate and encourage private sector participation in the development of the Lungsod ng Silangan Townsite Reservation under Proclamation No. 1637 dated 18 April 1977;
WHEREAS, the Inter-Agency Task Force on Socialized Housing in Manggahan Floodway was created by virtue of Memorandum Order No. 191 dated 12 February 1994 to formulate a socialized housing program...

Summary of Executive Order No. 232
Abolition of Presidential Task Forces
- The Presidential Task Force for the Development of Lungsod Silangan and the Inter-Agency Task Force on Socialized Housing in Manggahan Floodway are abolished. (Sec. 1)
- Their powers and functions are transferred to the Presidential Commission on the MARILAQUE Growth Corridor. (Sec. 1)
Integration of Plans and Programs
- The Commission shall review existing plans and programs of the abolished task forces for appropriate integration/consolidation into the Commission's plans and programs. (Sec. 1)
- All records, remaining funds, personnel, and outputs of the abolished bodies shall be turned over to the Commission. (Sec. 1)
Coordination with Other Government Agencies
- The Commission shall coordinate and consult with pertinent line departments and other government bodies, including committees and task forces responsible for the Manila-Rizal-Laguna-Quezon areas. (Sec. 2)
- The Commission may create appropriate technical working groups for this purpose. (Sec. 2)
Reporting Requirements
- The Commission shall submit quarterly reports to the Office of the President, through the Office of the Executive Secretary, on the status of activities in pursuance of its mandate. (Sec. 3)
- The reports shall include recommendations on how the implementation of the Integrated Development Plan can be fast-tracked. (Sec. 3)
Effectivity
- This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. (Sec. 4)
