AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 380 * DATED 2 DECEMBER 1996, "CREATING THE INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, DEFINING ITS COMPOSITION, POWERS AND FUNCTIONS

WHEREAS, the Industry Development Council was created on 2 December 1996, pursuant to Executive Order No. 380, to serve as a coordinating mechanism for the concerted and collective efforts of the government and private sectors to create a favorable business climate that will enhance the growth and expansion of our local industries;

WHEREAS, there is a need to further broaden sectoral representation in the IDC to strengthen its capabilities in addressing the development concerns of the local industries;

WHEREAS, the membership of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the IDC shall provide the sustainable development perspective in the promotion of competitiveness in the local industries and facilitate the resolution of environment-related concerns;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Executive Order No. 380 dated 2 December 1996,...

Amending Executive Order No. 380 dated December 2, 1996

- Inclusion of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in the Industry Development Council (IDC) membership (Section 1)
    - The DENR Secretary will be a member of the IDC to provide a sustainable development perspective and address environment-related concerns in promoting competitiveness of local industries. (Section 1)

Composition of the IDC (Section 2)
    - Chairman: Secretary of Trade and Industry
    - Vice-Chairmen: Presidents of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and Federation of Philippine Industries, Inc.
    - Members:
        - Secretary of Finance
        - Secretary of Agriculture
        - Secretary of Foreign Affairs
        - Secretary of Science and Technology
        - Secretary of Labor and Employment
        - Director General of the National Economic and Development Authority
        - Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
        - Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources
        - Seven (7) Representatives of the Private Sector

- The Executive Order takes effect immediately. (Section 3)
