PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 862 December 29, 1975

AMENDING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 810 DATED OCTOBER 16, 1975, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO OPERATE, CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A FRONTON FOR BASQUE PELOTA AND SIMILAR GAMES OF SKILL IN THE GREATER MANILA AREA"

I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:

Section 1. Section 5 of Presidential Decree No. 810 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 5. The provision of any existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, the grantee is hereby authorized to hold Basque Pelota games (including the games of pala, raqueta, cestapunta, remonte and mano) on all days of the week except (a) Sundays, (b) Independence Day or June 12, (c) Holy Thursday, (d) Good Friday, (e) December 30 and (f) election days: Provided, That games with bets may also be allowed on Sundays upon prior approval by the President of the Philippines for the benefit of...

Amending Presidential Decree No. 810 on Basque Pelota Games

- Section 5 of Presidential Decree No. 810 is amended as follows (Section 1):
• The grantee is authorized to hold Basque Pelota games, including pala, raqueta, cestapunta, remonte, and mano, on all days of the week except:
• Sundays (Section 5)
• Independence Day or June 12 (Section 5)
• Holy Thursday (Section 5)
• Good Friday (Section 5)
• December 30 (Section 5)
• Election days (Section 5)
• Games with bets may be allowed on Sundays upon prior approval by the President of the Philippines for the benefit of charitable or public welfare institutions. (Section 5)

- The Decree takes effect immediately. (Section 2)
