Summary of Republic Act No. 9472Amending Republic Act No. 9045 to Exclude the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Campus in Sto. Tomas, Batangas from the Coverage of the Batangas State University (BSU)
- Section 1 amends Section 1 of Republic Act No. 9045 to exclude the PUP campus in Sto. Tomas, Batangas from the integration into the BSU.
- The main campus of the BSU in Batangas City shall be named the Pablo Borbon Campus. (Section 1)
- Section 2 amends Section 16 of Republic Act No. 9045 to transfer all assets, personnel, records, liabilities, and obligations of the following institutions to the BSU:
- Pablo Borbon Memorial Institute of Technology and its branches in Barangay Alangilan, Batangas City, and the municipalities of Balayan, Bauan, Lobo, San Pascual, Rosario, Taysan, Padre Garcia, Lemery, Calaca, Taal, Tanauan, San Juan, and Lipa City
- Jose P. Laurel Polytechnic College in Malvar
- Apolinario R. Apacible School of Fisheries in Nasugbu
- It also declares that all government-owned land occupied by these institutions shall be titled under the name of the BSU. (Section 2)
- Section 3 amends Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9045 to state that the necessary funds to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the integrated institutions, and thereafter, the necessary funds for the operation and maintenance of the BSU shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 3)
- Section 4 amends the title of Republic Act No. 9045 to reflect the integration of the specified institutions into the BSU. (Section 4)
- Section 5 states that Republic Act No. 9045 is hereby amended, and all other laws contrary to or inconsistent with this Act are repealed, modified, or amended accordingly. (Section 5)
- Section 6 states that this Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in two newspapers of general circulation. (Section 6)

AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9045, WHICH CREATES THE BATANGAS STATE UNIVERSITY (BSU) BY EXCLUDING FROM ITS COVERAGE THE POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES (PUP) CAMPUS IN STO. TOMAS, BATANGAS
Be it enacted by the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Republic Act No. 9045 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. The Pablo Borbon Memorial Institute of Technology in the City of Batangas, including its branches in Barangay Alangilan of the same City and those in the municipalities of Balayan, Bauan, Lobo, San Pascual, Rosario, Taysan, Padre Garcia, Lemery, Calaca, Taal, Tanauan, San Juan and Lipa City, the Jose P. Laurel Polytechnic College in Malvar, the Apolinario R. Apacible School of Fisheries in Nasugbu, are hereby integrated...
