REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10253
AN ACT CREATING TWO (2) ADDITIONAL BRANCHES OF THE MUNICIPAL TRIAL COURT IN CITIES IN THE PROVINCE OF PALAWAN TO BE STATIONED AT PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 29 OF BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 129, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "THE JUDICIARY REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1980″, AS AMENDED, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. Two (2) additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities in the Fourth Judicial Region are hereby created for the Province of Palawan to be stationed at Puerto Princesa City.
The Supreme Court shall assign the branch number of the newly-created branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities in the Fourth Judicial Region.

Creation of Additional Municipal Trial Court Branches
- Two (2) additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities are created for the Province of Palawan, to be stationed at Puerto Princesa City. (Section 1)
- The Supreme Court shall assign the branch numbers of the newly-created branches. (Section 1)
Operationalization and Funding
- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Justice, shall immediately include the operationalization of the two (2) additional branches in the Court's program. (Section 2)
- The funding for the operation of the new branches shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. (Section 2)
- Funds shall be appropriated and released only upon the actual organization of the Courts and the appointment of its personnel. (Section 2)
Amendment of Existing Laws
- Section 29 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129 (The Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980), and all other laws, rules, and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby amended, repealed, or modified accordingly. (Section 3)
Effectivity
- This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its complete publication in the Official Gazette or in two (2) newspapers of general circulation. (Section 4)
