REPUBLIC ACT No. 4018
AN ACT TO FURTHER AMEND SECTION SIXTY-ONE OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FOUR HUNDRED NINE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE REVISED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MANILA.
Section 1. Section sixty-one of Republic Act Numbered Four hundred nine, otherwise known as the Revised Charter of the City of Manila, as amended by Republic Act Numbered Fifteen hundred seventy-one, is further amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 61. Board of Assessment Appeals. The Board of Assessment Appeals shall be composed of seven members who shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines on the first day of January every four years, four of whom shall be owners of real estate in the city and three shall represent the tenant-and-lessee interests in the city.
"The members of the Board of Assessment Appeals, except the chairman, shall receive a per diem of seventy-five pesos for each day on which they attend the session and serve as members of the Board.

Board of Assessment Appeals
- The Board of Assessment Appeals shall be composed of seven members appointed by the President of the Philippines every four years on January 1. (Section 1)
- Four members shall be owners of real estate in the City of Manila. (Section 1)
- Three members shall represent the tenant-and-lessee interests in the City of Manila. (Section 1)
- Members, except the chairman, shall receive a per diem of seventy-five pesos for each day they attend the session and serve as members of the Board. (Section 1)
- The chairman shall be designated by the President and shall receive one hundred pesos for each day they attend the sessions. (Section 1)
- In the absence or inability of the chairman to attend the session, the remaining members constituting a majority may choose one among themselves to act as temporary chairman. (Section 1)
- The Secretary of the Board shall be appointed by the Chairman with the concurrence of a majority of its members. (Section 1)
- The Secretary shall keep the records of the proceedings of the Board and receive a salary fixed by the Board. (Section 1)
- The Act shall take effect upon its approval. (Section 2)
