- Jose Araneta is granted a franchise for 25 years from the approval of this Act to: (Section 1)
- Construct, maintain and operate an electric light, heat and power system
- Generate and distribute electric light, heat and/or power for sale
- Within the Municipality of Siocon, Province of Zamboanga del Norte
Purchase of Electric Power from National Power Corporation
- If Araneta purchases electric power from the National Power Corporation, the NPC is authorized to negotiate rates on behalf of public consumers. (Section 2)
Government Takeover of Franchise
- If the government desires to operate the franchise itself, Araneta must surrender the franchise. (Section 3)
- The government will take over all serviceable equipment at cost, less reasonable depreciation.
Effectivity
- The Act takes effect upon its approval. (Section 4)

REPUBLIC ACT No. 2337
AN ACT TO GRANT JOSE ARANETA A FRANCHISE FOR AN ELECTRIC LIGHT, HEAT AND POWER SYSTEM IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SIOCON, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE.
Section 1. Subject to the terms and conditions established in Act Numbered Thirty-six hundred and thirty-six, as amended by Commonwealth Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-two, and to the provisions of the Constitution, there is granted to Jose Araneta, for a period of twenty-five years from the approval of this Act, the right, privilege and authority to construct, maintain and operate an electric light, heat and power system for the purpose of generating and distributing electric light, heat and/or power for sale within the Municipality of Siocon, Province of Zamboanga del Norte.
Section 2. In the event that the grantee shall purchase and secure from the National Power Corporation electric hear and power, the National Power Corporation is hereby authorized to negotiate and transact for the benefit and in behalf of the public consumers with reference to rates.
