AUTHORIZING THE CENTRAL BANK OF THE PHILIPPINES TO ESTABLISH AND OPERATE A SECURITY PRINTING PLANT FOR THE PRINTING OF BANK NOTES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act No. 4700, as amended by Republic Act No. 5183, entitled "An Act Providing for the Acquisition and Operation of a National Security Printing Plant and for Other Purposes," the printing of bank notes, among other security printing jobs enumerated therein shall be undertaken by the National Treasurer;
WHEREAS, to date, the said national security printing plant, which should have become operational a few years ago pursuant to the said Act, has not been established;
WHEREAS, considering its responsibility and authority over the currency issue of the country, in conjunction with its other functions and objectives, it is deemed appropriate that the Central Bank of the Philippines establish and operate the security printing plant for the printing of bank notes;

Authorizing the Central Bank of the Philippines to Establish and Operate a Security Printing Plant
- The Central Bank of the Philippines is authorized to establish and operate a security printing plant for the printing of bank notes. (Section 1)
- The security printing plant can also undertake other security printing work as permitted by the plant's facilities. (Section 1)
- This decree repeals or modifies any inconsistent acts, laws, executive orders, rules, and regulations. (Section 2)
- The decree took effect immediately upon its issuance on June 18, 1974. (Section 3)
