COMMISSIONING JOINTLY THE PHILIPPINE SPORTS COMMISSION AND THE PHILIPPINE SPORTS ASSOCIATION FOR THE DIFFERENTLY-ABLED, INC. (PHILSPADA) TO HOST THE 3RD ASEAN PARAGAMES 2005

WHEREAS, the PSC under its enabling law is mandated to carry out and undertake a unified national sports promotion and develop program, to provide leadership, formulate policies and set the priorities and directions of all national amateur sports association in the promotion and development of sports, particularly giving emphasis on grassroots participation of all sectors, government and private, to fully prepare our athletes for international competitions

WHEREAS, PHILSPADA in the national coordinating non-government agency on matters related to sports of persons with disabilities, as well as spearheads/initiates programs and projects towards its development and promotion;

WHEREAS, PHILSPADA is duly recognized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) as the National Sports Association (NSA) for the sector with disability and is an accredited member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Commissioning Jointly the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Sports Association for the Differently-Abled, Inc. (PHILSPADA) to Host the 3rd ASEAN PARAGAMES 2005

- The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and PHILSPADA are jointly commissioned to host the 3rd ASEAN PARAGAMES 2005. (Section 1)
- The PSC is mandated to carry out a unified national sports promotion and development program, provide leadership, formulate policies, and set priorities for national amateur sports associations. (Whereas Clause 1)
- PHILSPADA is the national coordinating non-government agency for sports of persons with disabilities and is recognized by the PSC as the National Sports Association for the sector with disability. (Whereas Clauses 2 and 3)
- Financial contributions to the PSC for hosting the 3rd ASEAN PARAGAMES 2005 shall be exempt from donor's tax. (Section 1)
- Donations to, or proceeds from fundraising activities of, PHILSPADA for hosting the event may be exempt from donors or income tax to the extent allowed by existing law. (Section 1)
- Various government agencies, mass media, and the entire citizenry are called upon to provide wholehearted support and cooperation. (Section 2)
- Government agencies are authorized to use their respective budgets to fund activities for the purpose of hosting the event. (Section 2)
