- An Executive Committee is created to plan and execute commemorative activities for the 1978 Manuel L. Quezon National Centennial Year. (Section 1)
Composition of the Executive Committee
- The Committee is composed of the following members:
- Hon. Pio Pedrosa (Chairman)
- Hon. Jorge B. Vargas (Co-Chairman)
- Hon. Emilio Abello (Co-Chairman)
- Hon. Anacleto Alcala, Governor of Quezon Province (Co-Chairman)
- Hon. Adelina S. Rodriguez, Mayor of Quezon City (Vice-Chairman)
- Hon. Luis Etcubanez, Lieutenant Governor of Aurora (Vice-Chairman)
- Hon. Estrello T. Ong, Mayor of Baler, Quezon (Vice-Chairman)
- Hon. Jose Roño, Secretary of Local Government and Community Development (Vice-Chairman)
- Hon. Juan Manuel, Secretary of Education and Culture (Vice-Chairman)
- Hon. Cesar Virata, Secretary of Finance (Member)
- Hon. Juan Ponce Enrile, Secretary of National Defense (Member)
- Mrs. Zenaida Quezon Avanceña (Member)
- Mr. Manuel L. Quezon, Jr. (Member)
- Rev. Pacifico Ortiz (Member)

- Three other members appointed by the President of the Philippines. (Section 1)
Coordination with National Historical Institute
- The Committee shall coordinate with the National Historical Institute, which is designated in a separate proclamation to coordinate with the Committee in the celebration of the centennial year. (Section 1)
Powers of the Committee
- The Chairman is empowered to request any agency of the Government to assist in the discharge of the Committee's functions and duties. (Section 1)
- The Chairman is empowered to designate such personnel it may require for the purpose. (Section 1)
Budget Appropriation
- The Budget Commission is directed to appropriate the amount of P500,000 out of the funds of the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated to carry out the commemorative activities and/or ceremonies the Committee will undertake. (Section 2)

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 502 April 30, 1978
CREATING AN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE PLANNING AND EXECUTION OF COMMEMORATIVE ACTIVITIES FOR THE 1978 MANUEL L. QUEZON NATIONAL CENTENNIAL YEAR
WHEREAS, this year 1978 marks the birth centenary of the late MANUEL LUIS QUEZON, first President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines and one of the foremost leaders and statement of our country; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed proper and fitting to commemorate his centennial year with appropriate activities and/or ceremonies to impress our people of the invaluable contributions of this great leader to the political emancipation of our nation and the enhancement of our national growth;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby constitute and create an Executive Committee to formulate plans and devise ways and means for the successful execution of appropriate activities and/or ceremonies for the commemoration of the 1978 Manuel L. Quezon National Centennial Year. The Committee shall be composed of the following:
