Declaring and Delineating the Virac Port Zone Under the Administrative Jurisdiction of the Philippine Ports Authority

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 138 November 28, 1993

DECLARING AND DELINEATING THE VIRAC PORT ZONE UNDER THE ADMINISTRATIVE JURISDICTION OF THE PHILIPPINE PORTS AUTHORITY

WHEREAS, the Port of Virac is one of the major and busiest ports in the country;

WHEREAS, there is a need to expand the Port of Virac for planning purposes to accommodate projected increases in port traffic and to program the development of the necessary port facilities to support the demands of the shipping trade within the region;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Sec. 1. The territorial jurisdiction of the Port of Virac is hereby expanded and particularly described as follows:

"Beginning at point marked 1 on the plan, thence to point 2 at a distance of 37.74 m with bearing N 491 34'E., thence to point 3 at a distance of 16.79 m with bearing N 521 56'E, thence to point 4 at a distance of 24.31 m...

Summary of Executive Order No. 138

Expansion and Delineation of Virac Port Zone
- The territorial jurisdiction of the Port of Virac is expanded and delineated with specific coordinates and bearings, comprising a total area of 361,936.79 sq. m. more or less. (Sec. 1)
- The expanded Virac Port Zone is placed under the administrative jurisdiction of the Philippine Ports Authority. (Sec. 2)

Responsibilities of the Philippine Ports Authority
- The Philippine Ports Authority shall implement a program for the proper zoning, planning, development, and utilization of the Virac Port Zone, consistent with the regional industrial plans of the Government. (Sec. 2)

Repealing Clause
- All other orders, proclamations, and issuances, or portions thereof, which are inconsistent with this Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly. (Sec. 3)

Effectivity
- This Executive Order shall take effect immediately. (Sec. 4)
