Delegating To the Secretary of Local Government the Power To Appoint Certain Local Officials Under Sections 42(4), 48(3), 49(2), 146(1) and (2), 173(1) and (5), and 205(2) of the Local Government Code, as Amended

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 342 November 28, 1988

DELEGATING TO THE SECRETARY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT THE POWER TO APPOINT CERTAIN LOCAL OFFICIALS UNDER SECTIONS 42(4), 48(3), 49(2), 146(1) AND (2), 173(1) AND (5), AND 205(2) OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE, AS AMENDED

I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and the laws, do hereby delegate the power of the President to appoint certain local officials under Section 42(4), 48(3), 49(2), 146(1) and (2), 173(1) and (5), and 205(2) of the Local Government Code, as amended, to the Secretary of Local Government, who shall sign, "By authority of the President."

Memorandum Order No. 188, dated August 16, 1988, is hereby revoked. All other orders, rules, and regulations in conflict or inconsistent herewith are hereby modified or revoked accordingly.

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 28th day of November in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-eight.

Delegation of Presidential Appointment Powers to the Secretary of Local Government

- The President delegates the power to appoint certain local officials under Sections 42(4), 48(3), 49(2), 146(1) and (2), 173(1) and (5), and 205(2) of the Local Government Code, as amended, to the Secretary of Local Government.
- The Secretary of Local Government shall sign the appointments "By authority of the President".
- Memorandum Order No. 188, dated August 16, 1988, is revoked.
- All other orders, rules, and regulations in conflict or inconsistent with this Executive Order are modified or revoked accordingly.
- This Executive Order takes effect immediately.
