ESTABLISHING AS A COAL MINING RESERVATION TWO PARCELS OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF KABASALAN AND MARGOSATUBIG, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA, ISLAND OF MINDANAO.

Upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce and pursuant to the provisions of section eleven of Commonwalth Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-seven, I Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, hereby set apart as coal mining reservation and proclaim it closed to mining location and lease the following-described parcels of the public domain situated in the municipalities of Kabasalan and Margosatubig, Province of Zamboanga, Island of Mindanao to wit:

Parcel No. 1Beginning at Ticauan Point on the shore of Sibuguey Bay, Province of Zamboanga; thence northeast to location monument No. 1, municipality of Kabasalan; thence eastward to the southernmost point on the shore of Lake Wood, municipality of Margosatubig; thence southward to the mouth of Kumalarang River at Dumaguilas Bay; thence to Lapat point; thence following the coast lines of Tantanang...

Proclamation No. 284

Establishing Coal Mining Reservations
- Pursuant to Section 11 of Commonwealth Act No. 137, President Manuel L. Quezon establishes two parcels of public domain as coal mining reservations, closed to mining location and lease.

Parcel No. 1:
- Begins at Ticauan Point on the shore of Sibuguey Bay, Province of Zamboanga.
- Proceeds northeast to location monument No. 1, municipality of Kabasalan.
- Continues eastward to the southernmost point on the shore of Lake Wood, municipality of Margosatubig.
- Extends southward to the mouth of Kumalarang River at Dumaguilas Bay.
- Proceeds to Lapat point.
- Follows the coastlines of Tantanang Bay, Canalizo Strait, Locsico Bay, and Sibuguey Bay back to the starting point.

Parcel No. 2:
- Consists of the whole Islands of Olutanga, Lapinigan, Litayen, Silagui, Lutangan, and Lipari, located south of Parcel No. 1 in the municipality of Margosatubig.

The proclamation was signed by President Manuel L. Quezon on July 19, 1938, in the City of Manila, during the third year of the Commonwealth of the Philippines.
