FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 5 (a) OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED SEVENTEEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-NINE, AS AMENDED, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE REPARATIONS LAW
By virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby order and decree:
Section 1. Section 5(a) of Republic Act No. 1789, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 5. The implementing machinery. (a) For the purpose of implementing the provisions of this Act, the Reparations Agreement, and the exchange of notes on reparations loans, there is hereby created the Reparations Commission, hereinafter referred to as the Commission, which shall be headed by a Commissioner who shall be assisted by a Deputy Commissioner, both of whom shall be appointed by the President and shall serve until removed for cause or by reason of death or disability. . . ."

Amendments to the Reparations Law
- Further amends Section 5(a) of Republic Act No. 1789, also known as the Reparations Law. (Section 1)
- Creates the Reparations Commission, headed by a Commissioner and assisted by a Deputy Commissioner, both appointed by the President. (Section 1)
- The Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner shall serve until removed for cause, death, or disability. (Section 1)
- The incumbent Chairman and member of the Commission shall act as Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, respectively, until their successors are appointed. (Section 2)
- The Decree takes effect immediately. (Section 3)
