EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 926 January 1, 1984

MODIFYING THE RATES OF DUTY ON CERTAIN IMPORTED ARTICLES AS PROVIDED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1464, AS AMENDED, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF 1978

Pursuant to the powers vested in me by Section 401 of the Tariff and Customs Code, as amended, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby direct and order:

Sec. 1. The rates of import duty under heading Nos. 56.01 and 56.02 of the Code are hereby amended to read as follows:

56.01 Man-made fibers (discontinuous) not carded, combed or otherwise prepared for spinning:

- Amends the rates of import duty under heading Nos. 56.01 and 56.02 of the Tariff and Customs Code. (Section 1)
• Heading No. 56.01 covers man-made fibers (discontinuous) not carded, combed or otherwise prepared for spinning. (Section 1)
• Heading No. 56.02 covers continuous filament tow for the manufacture of man-made fibers (discontinuous). (Section 1)
• The rates of import duty for various types of fibers under these headings are specified for the years 1981 to 1985, with different rates for polyester fibers, acrylic fibers, other synthetic fibers, and regenerated fibers (including rayon). (Section 1)
• For polyester staple fibers imported directly by textile mills under prior authorization of the Board of Investments, a lower rate of 20% ad valorem is specified for the years 1983 to 1985. (Section 1)
• For polyester filament tow imported directly by textile mills under prior authorization of the Board of Investments, a lower rate of 20% ad valorem is specified for the years 1983 to 1985. (Section 1)
- The Order takes effect on January 1, 1984. (Section 2)
