MODIFYING THE RATES OF IMPORT DUTY ON CERTAIN IMPORTED ARTICLES AS PROVIDED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1464, AS AMENDED, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF 1978, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE 20%-25% MARGINS OF TARIFF PREFERENCE ON ITEMS WITH IMPORT VALUES OF OVER $2,500,000 TO 10,000,000 (CIF) IN 1978, AS RECORDED IN THE FOREIGN TRADE STATISTICS OF THE PHILIPPINES, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DECISIONS OF THE FOURTEENTH ASEAN ECONOMIC MINISTERS (AEM) MEETING AND THE FIFTEENTH MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON TRADE AND TOURISM
Pursuant to the powers vested in me by Section 402 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, as amended, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby direct and order:
Sec. 1. The articles specifically listed in Annex "A" hereof as classified under Section 104 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, as amended, shall be accorded a 20%-25% margins of Tariff preference as agreed upon during the Fourteenth ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and the Fifteenth Meeting of the Committee...

Tariff Preference for ASEAN Countries
- Provides a 20%-25% margin of tariff preference for certain imported articles from ASEAN countries, as agreed upon during the 14th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and the 15th Meeting of the Committee on Trade and Tourism. (Section 1)
- The articles eligible for the tariff preference are listed in Annex "A" of the Order, classified under Section 104 of Presidential Decree No. 1464 (Tariff and Customs Code of 1978). (Section 1)
- The preferential tariff rates for these articles are specified in columns 7-9 of Annex "A". (Section 1)
- If there are any subsequent changes in the basic Philippine rate of duty on these articles, they shall automatically be accorded the corresponding margins of preference indicated in column 6 of Annex "A". (Section 2)
- The preferential tariff rates shall apply to the listed articles entered or withdrawn from warehouses in the Philippines for consumption, subject to qualification under the Rules of Origin specified in the Agreement on ASEAN Preferential Trading Arrangements ratified on August 1, 1977. (Section 3)
- The Order took effect on July 1, 1983. (Section 4)
