REPEALING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 810, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING THE PHILIPPINE JAI-ALAI AND AMUSEMENT CORPORATIONS A FRANCHISE TO OPERATE, CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A FRONTON FOR BASQUE PELOTA AND SIMILAR GAMES OF SKILL IN THE GREATER MANILA AREA AS AMENDED, AND ACCORDINGLY REVOKING AND CANCELLING THE RECENT PRIVILEGE, AND AUTHORITY GRANTED THEREIN"
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 810, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1124, granted the Philippine Jai-Alai and Amusement Corporation or its successors, among others, for a period of twenty-five years from the approval of the Act, extendible for another twenty-five years without the necessity of another franchise the right, privilege and authority to construct, operate and maintain a court for Basque Pelota and hold or conduct Basque Pelota games therein (including the games of pala, raqueta, restapunta, ramonte and mano) within the greater Manila area, establish branch thereof for booking purposes therein or in any other place within the Philippines upon prior approval by the President with bettings either directly or by means of electric...

Summary of Executive Order No. 169
Repeal of Presidential Decree No. 810 and Revocation of Franchise
- Presidential Decree No. 810, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1124 and Presidential Decree No. 1966, granted the Philippine Jai-Alai and Amusement Corporation or its successors the following rights and privileges:
• For a period of twenty-five years from the approval of the Act, extendible for another twenty-five years without the necessity of another franchise. (Sec. 1)
• The right, privilege and authority to construct, operate and maintain a court for Basque Pelota and hold or conduct Basque Pelota games therein (including the games of pala, raqueta, restapunta, ramonte and mano) within the greater Manila area. (Sec. 1)
• Establish branches thereof for booking purposes within Metro Manila or in any other place within the Philippines, subject to the existing rules and regulations. (Sec. 1)
• Conduct bettings either directly or by means of electric and/or computerized totalizator. (Sec. 1)
- The grant of the rights, privileges and authority under Presidential Decree No. 810, as amended, is subject to amendment, alteration or repeal when the common good so requires. (Sec. 1)
- Executive Order No. 169 repeals Presidential Decree No. 810, as amended, and revokes and cancels the grant to the Philippine Jai-Alai and Amusement Corporation or its successors of the rights, privileges and authority under the aforementioned law, as amended. (Sec. 1)
- The Executive Order takes effect immediately. (Sec. 2)
