This refers to your letter dated February 2, 2009 requesting for a Certificate of Tax Exemption under the provisions of R.A. No. 6938, otherwise known as the "Cooperative Code of the Philippines".
Documents submitted disclosed that Active Cooperation for Economic Sustenance Multi-Purpose Cooperative is a primary multi-purpose cooperative transacting with members only. It is registered with the Cooperative Development Authority with Registration No. N-624-6626 dated December 16, 2008. A Certificate of Good Standing No. MEO-CGS-2009-019 dated February 25, 2009 has been issued in its favor by Officer-In-Charge Manuel C. Lapeña, Cooperative Development Authority, Manila Extension Office.
The objectives and purposes for which it is formed are the following:
1. To provide savings and credit facilities to its members, and develop other livelihood and income generating services for the members;
