Gentlemen :
This refers to your letter dated March 7, 2009 requesting tax exemption of San Jacinto Kasalikasan Multi-Purpose Cooperative under the provisions of R.A. No. 6938, otherwise known as the "Cooperative Code of the Philippines."
Documents submitted disclosed that San Jacinto Kasalikasan Multi-Purpose Cooperative ("San Jacinto Kasalikasan MPC" for brevity), with Taxpayer Identification No. 005-934-604-000, is a cooperative duly registered with the Cooperative Development Authority with Registration No. DAG-4470 dated February 21, 2002; that the objectives and purposes for which it was formed are the following:
1. To engage in production, and marketing or organically-grown agricultural products;
2. To engage in the supply and production of agricultural inputs;
3. To extend credit to members;
4. To market farm products.
and that it has submitted to this Office in support of its request and in compliance with Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 14-01 dated March 12, 2001, the following documents: ECHSDc
