This refers to your undated letter requesting for a tax exemption under the provision of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 6938, otherwise known as the Cooperative Code of the Philippines. aTEACS
It appears that Barugo-Carigara Tricycle Drivers Service Cooperative is a multi-purpose cooperative duly registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) under Certificate of Registration No. TAC-2868 dated October 01, 2003 with Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) 269-204-89; that it transacts business with members and non-members; that it was issued a Certificate of Good Standing by the CDA dated February 02, 2009; that the objectives for which it was formed are as follows:
1. To serve commuters within the area of operation;
2. To raise funds for the purpose to grant loans to the members;
3. Purchase public utility tricycles;
4. Enhance more employment by hiring more tricycle drivers; and
5. Conduct information and dissemination campaign.
