This refers to your letter dated July 27, 2009 requesting for exemption from the payment of income tax and the filing of the corresponding income tax return pursuant to the 1987 Philippine Constitution. cAaTED
Documents submitted to this Office disclosed that the PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH INSTITUTE, INC., with TIN 004-854-374, is a non-stock, non-profit educational corporation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under SEC Registration No. BS096-000034 dated June 25, 2009; that the primary purpose for which the corporation was formed is to offer a non-degree English Learning Program designed to help students become proficient in all aspects of communicative competence; and that no part of the income which the corporation may obtain as an incident to its operation shall be distributed as dividends to its members, trustees or officers.
