Regulating the Use of Aliases- Prohibitions and Requirements for Using Aliases (Section 1):
• No person shall use a name different from their registered birth name, baptismal name, or immigrant name, except for:
• Pseudonyms used solely for literary, cinema, television, radio, entertainment, or athletic purposes where pseudonyms are accepted.
• Substitute names authorized by a competent court.
• Persons whose births are not registered and who have not been baptized have one year from the law's approval to register their names in the civil registry of their residence. (Section 1)
- Obtaining Judicial Authority for Using an Alias (Section 2):
• Any person desiring to use an alias must apply for judicial authority through legal proceedings similar to those for obtaining a change of name. (Section 2)
• The petition must state the person's baptismal name, family name, registered name, immigrant name (if an alien), and pseudonym (if any), along with the reasons for using the desired alias. (Section 2)
• Judicial authority for using an alias, Christian name, and immigrant name must be recorded in the local civil registry. (Section 2)
• No person shall use any name other than their original or real name unless it is duly recorded in the proper local civil registry. (Section 2)
- Representation and Signing Requirements (Section 3):
• Any person who has been baptized with a different name from their registered birth name, obtained judicial authority to use an alias, or uses a pseudonym, must state or affix their real or original name and all authorized names or aliases when representing themselves in any public or private transaction or signing or executing any public or private document. (Section 3)
- Prohibition on Using Unauthorized Names or Aliases (Section 4):
• Six months after the law's approval, all persons who have used any name and/or alias different from those authorized in Section 1 and duly recorded in the local civil registry shall be prohibited from using such other names and/or aliases. (Section 4)
- Penalties (Section 5):
• Any violation of this Act shall be punished with imprisonment of one to five years and a fine of P5,000 to P10,000. (Section 5)
- Effectivity and Repealing Clause (Section 6):
• This Act shall take effect upon its approval, and all Acts, rules, or regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed. (Section 6)

Section 1. Section one of Commonwealth Act Numbered One hundred forty-two is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 1. Except as a pseudonym solely for literary, cinema, television, radio or other entertainment purposes and in athletic events where the use of pseudonym is a normally accepted practice, no person shall use any name different from the one with which he was registered at birth in the office of the local civil registry, or with which he was baptized for the first time, or, in case of an alien, with which he was registered in the bureau of immigration upon entry; or such substitute name as may have been authorized by a competent court: Provided, That persons, whose births have not been registered in any local civil registry and who have not been baptized, have one year from the approval of this act within which to register their names in the civil registry of their residence.
