AN ACT ELIMINATING THE PREPARATORY RECALL ASSEMBLY AS A MODE OF INSTITUTING RECALL OF ELECTIVE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTIONS 70 AND 71, CHAPTER 5, TITLE ONE, BOOK I OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7160, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE "LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE OF 1991", AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. Section 70, Chapter 5, Title One, Book I of Republic Acts No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 70. Initiation of the Recall Process. -
a. The Recall of any elective provincial, city, municipal or barangay official shall be commenced by a petition of a registered voter in the local government unit...
