Summary of Republic Act No. 6714Merger, Division, and Revival of Barangays in Caloocan City
- Section 1: Reduces the 70 barangays in the first congressional district of Caloocan City to 30 barangays by merging existing barangays. It provides the new names and boundaries for each of the 30 merged barangays.
- Section 2: Reduces the 118 barangays in the second congressional district of Caloocan City to 30 barangays by merging existing barangays. It provides the new names and boundaries for each of the 30 merged barangays.
- Section 3: The first officials of the newly created barangays shall be elected during the regular barangay elections scheduled by law. The existing barangays shall continue to function under their elected or appointed officials until then.
- Section 4: Upon assumption of office of the new barangay officials, the old barangays shall cease to exist, and their moneys, properties, and obligations shall be assumed by the new succeeding barangay.
- Section 5: The merger, division, and revival of barangays shall take effect if a majority of voters approve it in a plebiscite called by the Commission on Elections within 30 days from the President's approval of this Act.
- Section 6: The expenses for holding the plebiscite shall be taken from the Contingent Fund under the current fiscal year appropriations.
- Section 7: This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

AN ACT MERGING, DIVIDING, AND/OR REVIVING THE DIFFERENT BARANGAYS IN CALOOCAN CITY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled::
Section 1. The seventy (70) barangays constituting the first congressional district of Caloocan City are hereby reduced to only thirty (30) barangays as follows:
a. Barangay Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are hereby merged and shall be known as Barangay Sangandaan Norte with the following boundaries:
North
Caloocan-Malabon boundary
South
General San Miguel Street
East
Railroad tracks
West
Caloocan-Malabon boundary(See Illustrative Map. No. 1)
b. Barangay Nos. 77, 78, 79, 80, and 81 are hereby merged and shall be known as Barangay Bonifacio with the following boundaries:
North
Caloocan-Malabon boundary
South
Samson Road and EDSA
East
Manila Central University Wall along Gen. Simeon Street
West
