AN ACT TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE RELATIVE TO OFFICES OF REGISTER OF DEEDS.

Offices of Register of Deeds
- There shall be one register of deeds for each city and province, except in Mountain Province where there shall be two: one for Benguet Sub-province and another for the rest of the province. (Section 192)
- The register of deeds of Baguio City shall be ex-officio register of deeds for Benguet Sub-province. (Section 192)
- The register of deeds of a province whose capital is a chartered city shall be ex-officio register of deeds for that city. (Section 192)

Salaries of Registers of Deeds
- Salary of register of deeds of Manila City shall be ₱5,400 per annum. (Section 192(b))
- Salary of registers of deeds of Cebu, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, and Rizal provinces shall be ₱3,600 per annum. (Section 192(b))
- Salary of registers of deeds of Bulacan, Laguna, Pampanga, Quezon, and Tarlac provinces shall be ₱3,000 per annum. (Section 192(b))
- Salary of registers of deeds of Albay, Bataan, Batangas, Camarines Sur, Capiz, Cavite, Cotabato, Davao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, La Union, Leyte, Negros Oriental, Nueva Vizcaya, Zamboanga provinces, Baguio City, and Quezon City shall be ₱2,400 per annum. (Section 192(b))
- Salary of registers of deeds of other cities and provinces shall be ₱1,800 per annum. (Section 192(b))
- Salaries of registers of deeds, except in Manila City, shall be revised and fixed every five years based on the yearly average collections during the last three years preceding the revision year. (Section 192(b))
- Salary schedule based on yearly average collections: ₱4,000 for ₱50,000 or more; ₱3,600 for ₱30,000 to less than ₱50,000; ₱3,000 for ₱15,000 to less than ₱30,000; ₱2,400 for ₱5,000 to less than ₱15,000; ₱1,800 for less than ₱5,000. (Section 192(b))
- Salary of register of deeds of Baguio City shall be based on consolidated yearly average collections of Baguio City and Benguet Sub-province registries. (Section 192(b))
- Salary of register of deeds of a province whose capital is a city shall be based on consolidated yearly average collections of the province and city registries. (Section 192(b))

Discharge of Duties in Case of Vacancy or Absence
- In case of vacancy, absence, illness, or inability of the register of deeds, duties shall be performed by the following officials without additional compensation, unless the Secretary of Justice designates another official: (Section 210)
- For cities or provinces with a deputy register of deeds, by the deputy register of deeds. (Section 210(a))
- For Baguio City, by the city attorney, assistant city attorney, city treasurer, or assistant city treasurer of Baguio City. (Section 210(b))
- For cities not capitals of provinces, by the city attorney, assistant city attorney, city treasurer, or assistant city treasurer. (Section 210(c))
- For provinces in general, by the provincial fiscal, assistant provincial fiscal, provincial treasurer, or assistant provincial treasurer. (Section 210(d))

Effectivity
- This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1947. (Section 2)
