Declaring Thursday, November 27, 1952, as A Special Public Holiday For National Thanksgiving

MALACAÑANGManila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES Proclamation No. 355 DECLARING THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 1952, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR NATIONAL THANKSGIVING. WHEREAS, Divine Providence having bestowed upon us untold blessings, for which we are infinitely grateful, it is fitting that a day be set aside on which to dedicate our noblest thoughts in prayer and thanksgiving to Almighty God for such bounty; NOW, THEREFORE, I, ELPIDIO QUIRINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Thursday, November 27, 1952, as a special public holiday for national thanksgiving. I call upon all the people to turn their thoughts and actions on that day towards Almighty God and offer Him a prayer of thanks for all the blessings He has showered upon us.
