Strict Enforcement of Presidential Decree No. 825 Providing Penalties for Improper Disposal of Garbage and Other Forms of Uncleanliness

- The implementation and enforcement of Presidential Decree No. 825 has been neglected, leading to a critical garbage problem in Metro Manila. (Preamble)
- There is an urgent need to address the garbage problem in Metro Manila and promote discipline and collective action among citizens in properly disposing of garbage, filth, and waste. (Preamble)
- The provisions of Presidential Decree No. 825 shall be strictly implemented and enforced by all law enforcement agencies and officers, particularly at the Barangay level. (Sec. 1)
- Barangays may designate Barangay Tanod as sanitary officers, assisted and supported by the Metropolitan Manila Authority. (Sec. 1)
- The Metropolitan Manila Authority shall ensure the faithful and strict implementation and enforcement of Presidential Decree No. 825 and this Executive Order throughout Metro Manila. (Sec. 2)
- The Metropolitan Manila Authority may request assistance and cooperation from all law enforcement agencies and government offices and instrumentalities, national and local, to instill discipline and collective action among citizens in resolving the garbage problem. (Sec. 2)
- This Executive Order takes effect immediately. (Sec. 3)
