Summary of Executive Order No. 788Initial Clothing Allowance in Kind for PMA and PAFFS Cadets
- Each cadet of the PMA and PAFFS shall receive an initial clothing allowance in kind upon appointment. (Sec. 1)
- The Minister of National Defense, upon recommendation of the Chief of Staff, AFP, shall prescribe the items of clothing and the quantity of each item for each cadet. (Sec. 1)
Clothing Maintenance Allowance for PMA and PAFFS Cadets
- Each cadet of the PMA and PAFFS shall receive a clothing maintenance allowance in cash of not less than One Hundred Pesos (P100.00) per month. (Sec. 2)
- The allowance shall cover the cost of laundry, repair, and other costs to maintain the presentability and prolong the usefulness of the clothing items. (Sec. 2)
- The Minister of National Defense, upon recommendation of the Chief of Staff, AFP, shall prescribe the exact amount of the allowance. (Sec. 2)
Funding and Implementation
- The funds needed to implement this Order shall be charged against the Annual Appropriations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. (Sec. 3)
- The Minister of National Defense shall issue implementing instructions to carry out the intent of this Order. (Sec. 4)
- All rules, regulations, and other issuances or parts thereof that are in conflict with this Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified accordingly. (Sec. 5)
- This Order shall take effect upon approval. (Sec. 6)

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 788 March 28, 1982
PRESCRIBING THE INITIAL CLOTHING ALLOWANCE IN KIND AND A NEW RATE OF CLOTHING MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE OF THE CADETS OF THE PHILIPPINE MILITARY ACADEMY AND THE PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE FLYING SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree Number 560 dated September 23, 1974 prescribed the amount of P2,500.00 as initial clothing allowance and P150.00 as semestral clothing maintenance allowance for each cadet of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) and P1,500.00 as initial clothing allowance for each cadet of the Philippine Air Force Flying School (PAFFS);
WHEREAS, due to the increase in the prices of commodities, the present rate of initial clothing allowance and semestral clothing maintenance allowance for each cadet of the PMA and the PAFFS is no longer adequate to meet the cost of a cadet's required uniforms;
WHEREAS, the adjustment of the initial clothing allowance, made necessary by the continuing increase in prices of uniforms has become tedious and cumbersome;
