July 3, 2020SEC ADVISORYOFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSELPursuant to Resolution No. 40 of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases placing the National Capital Region (NCR) under General Community Quarantine, and the expiration of the thirty (30)-day extension period in the filing of appeals, motions and pleadings provided in the Office of the General Counsel's (OGC) Advisory dated 08 April 2020, the OGC hereby informs the public that effective 06 July 2020, the reglementary periods in the filing of petitions, appeals, motions, and other pleadings under the 2016 Rules of Procedure of the SEC 1 shall start to run. To ensure and afford reasonable protection to the public and to the employees from the risk of contracting COVID-19, the OGC continues to maintain strict measures to ensure minimal face-to-face transactions. Thus, the OGC will further suspend the conduct of hearings and preliminary conferences in cases pending with the OGC or the Commission En Banc, and may, in its discretion, order the parties to file their respective position papers.This Advisory supersedes...
