Advice for OFWs in Italy in View of the Nationwide Lockdown Due to COVID-19

March 13, 2020POEA ADVISORY NO. 22-20ADVICE FOR OFWS IN ITALY IN VIEW OF THE NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN DUE TO COVID-19Italian Prime Minister Conte has extended the scope of the COVID-19 containment measures to include all of Italy. The decree shall restrict the movements of persons in the whole country, limiting only for proven urgent and essential travel for work and health reasons. The restriction will include not only international and domestic travel to and from Italy, but within regions as well. HTcADCIn light of this development, OFWs in Italy are advised to defer their trips to the Philippines or outside Italy if the purpose is not urgent in nature.
