Advisory on the Description of Large-Scale Obvious Work-Related Accidents under EC Board Resolution No. 18-02-04

April 3, 2018ECC CIRCULAR NO. 18-04-03ADVISORY ON THE DESCRIPTION OF LARGE-SCALE OBVIOUS WORK-RELATED ACCIDENTS UNDER EC BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 18-02-04The following advisory is hereby issued in relation to the implementation of Board Resolution No. 18-02-04 ("Expediting the Processing of EC Claims for Victims of Large-Scale Obvious Work-Related Accidents," Feb. 1, 2018). For work-related accidents to be considered as "large-scale," at least one of the following criteria must be fulfilled:a. Five or more workers or employees reported injured and/or killed;b. Disasters prompting the declaration of state of emergency or calamity by the affected local government unit or by the appropriate government agency; orc. Accidents requiring search and rescue/retrieval operation by the local government concerned.In all instances, the injuries and/or death of the victim-workers or employees arose out of and in the course of their employments.For guidance of all concerned.Done in the City of Makati this 3rd day of April, 2018.
