January 12, 2016GOVERNING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 01-16WHEREAS, Republic Act 10022 authorizes the POEA Governing Board, after consultation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), to impose a ban on the deployment of Filipino migrant workers in pursuit of national interest or when public welfare so requires;WHEREAS, on 22 December 2015, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has placed Pakistan under Crisis Alert Level 1 (Precautionary Phase) due to the large number as well as the magnitude and gravity of incidents of internal violence such as war on terrorism, Pakistan Taliban attacks and insurgency waged by secessionist armed groups. External threats are likewise manifested by intermittent military skirmishes and artillery exchange with India, incursions of extremist militants from Afghanistan and counter-infiltrations and exchange of artillery and arms fire at the border with Iran; and HTcADCWHEREAS, Under Crisis Alert Level 1, no travel restrictions are imposed upon Filipino workers but they are advised to take necessary precautions during their stay in Pakistan particularly in the concerned areas such as Balochistan Province, Federal Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Khyber...
