January 16, 2017DOLE DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 149-A-17AMENDING DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 149, SERIES OF 2016 ON "GUIDELINES IN ASSESSING AND DETERMINING HAZARDOUS WORK IN THE EMPLOYMENT OF PERSONS BELOW 18 YEARS OF AGE"In the interest of service, Section 6.b. of Department Order No. 149, Series of 2016 is hereby amended as follows: SECTION 6. Hazardous Work and Activities. —b. Work and activities under the following occupational classifications which would subject the child to the conditions provided under Section 2 of this Guidelines are declared hazardous to persons below 18 years of age:i. Farmers and Other Plant Growers1. Preparatory and planting activities that involve clearing of land, plowing, harrowing, irrigating, constructing paddy dike, and cutting2. Plant propagation activities that involve grafting, budding, and marcotting3. Tending activities that involve weeding; handling, spraying and application of harmful fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other toxic chemicals; and the loading and carrying of heavy loads 4.
