November 29, 2013ECC BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 13-11-37APPROVING AN INCREASE IN THE EC FUNERAL BENEFIT FROM PHP10,000 TO PHP20,000 FOR THE PUBLIC SECTORExcerpts from the Minutes of the Seventh (7th) Joint Regular Commission Meeting, Employees' Compensation Commission, Series of 2013, Convened at the III-A Conference Room, Occupational Safety & Health Center, Quezon City, Friday, 29 November 2013 at 12:00 N.N.WHEREAS, Article 194 (d) of P.D. No. 626, as amended provides:"ART. 194. Death (a) . . .xxx xxx xxx"(e) Funeral Benefit. — A funeral benefit of three thousand pesos (P3,000.00) shall be paid upon the death of a covered employee or permanently totally disabled pensioner." DCIASTWHEREAS, the above provision has been amended by Executive Order No. 135, series of 2013, which increased the amount of funeral benefit for the public sector from Php3,000 to Php10,000;WHEREAS, on 02 July 2013, the Commission approved the increase in the funeral benefit of the private sector from Php10,000.00 to Php20,000.00;WHEREAS, during the Commission Meeting on August 7, 2013, the GSIS presented the results of its actuarial study which shows the viability...
