June 14, 2017ECC BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 17-06-22APPROVING THE FACILITATIVE PROCESSING OF THE EMPLOYEES' COMPENSATION BENEFITS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES (AFP) AND THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP) WHO WERE KILLED IN ACTION (KIA) AND WOUNDED IN ACTION (WIA) IN THE BATTLE OF THE ISLAMIC CITY OF MARAWIWHEREAS, the sacrifice and bravery of soldiers and policemen in putting their lives on the line in the Battle of the Islamic City of Marawi should be recognized and appreciated; WHEREAS, to honor their gallantry in the performance of their sworn duties, this Commission recognizes the need to effect a facilitative processing of the EC benefits for the uniformed personnel and/or their qualified beneficiaries who were wounded or killed in action (WIA/KIA);WHEREAS, Article 183 (formerly 177) par. (c) of P.D. No. 626, as amended, empowers this Commission "to approve rules and regulations governing the processing of claims;"NOW THEREFORE, ON MOTION DULY MADE AND SECONDED;This Commission RESOLVES as it hereby RESOLVED to direct the GSIS to immediately process and release the corresponding EC disability benefits...
