February 9, 2015ECC BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 15-02-05COMMENDING THE BRAVERY OF THE PNP-SPECIAL ACTION FORCE (SAF) TROOPERS IN THE MAMASAPANO INCIDENT AND PROVIDING THEM WITH UTMOST ASSISTANCE ON THEIR EMPLOYEES COMPENSATION BENEFIT CLAIMSWHEREAS, this Commission extends its highest recognition to the gallantry and dedication to service of PNP-SAF troopers in the Mamasapano incident;WHEREAS, they stood their ground in the battlefield to uphold the law despite overwhelming odds; WHEREAS, to honor their bravery in the performance of their duties, this Commission recognizes the need to effect a facilitative processing of the EC benefits for the gallant SAF-troopers and/or their qualified beneficiaries;WHEREAS, Article 177 (c) of P.D. No. 626, as amended, empowers this Commission "to approve rules and regulations governing the processing of claims;"NOW THEREFORE,This Commission RESOLVES as it hereby RESOLVED to direct the GSIS to immediately process and release the corresponding EC disability benefits to the wounded SAF troopers and initial EC death benefits to the qualified beneficiaries of the fallen 44 SAF troopers upon receipt of the names of the wounded and the names of the...
