May 26, 1976POLICY INSTRUCTIONS NO. 15-76COST OF MEALS AND LODGING IN RESTAURANTSIn order to insure the effective enforcement of P.D. 928 providing for a new minimum wage in the Philippines and taking into consideration the realities in which the law operates, restaurants employing not more than 30 employees are hereby authorized to charge their employees P1.50 for the cost of each nutritionally adequate meal and snack and P1.50 per day for lodging furnished to them instead of P1.25 as provided for in the rules and regulations implementing P.D. 928, subject to the following conditions:1. It is with the written authority of the worker;2. Such restaurants shall fully pay the new minimum wage, the 13th month pay and the emergency allowance and other benefits provided by law or company policy or practice; digest3. The employees of such restaurants shall not be required to take their meals or snacks or lodge therein and shall have the option to bring their own meals or lodge elsewhere;4.
