Bernadette Herrera-Uy has reported on the bright employment opportunities for Filipino workers in Australia, particularly in Queensland and Victoria. According to Congresswoman Uy, who headed the 5th Philippine Center of Young Leaders in Governance Delegation to Australia, the said territories are now undergoing reconstruction after they were hit by the devastating flash floods in December 2010. The reconstruction projects will require trades people such as construction workers, welders and carpenters. She also reported on the huge requirements of Australia for information and technology people as well as mining workers.
