April 17, 1970DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 006-70To implement more effectively the wage and hour laws covering agricultural workers, the following policy is hereby issued for the guidance of and compliance by all concerned including the general public.1. Agricultural Minimum Wages — Agricultural workers, other than those in the sugar industry shall be entitled to a minimum wage of at least P3.50 a day for eight hours' work in accordance with Republic Act No. 3844, the Agricultural Land Reform Code. Agricultural workers in the sugar industry shall be entitled to an irreducible minimum of P4.00 a day working eight hours in accordance with Minimum Wage Order No. 1, dated 18 February 1964.2. Monthly Rates — Cash Wage — To determine whether the monthly rate of monthly salaries agricultural workers is in compliance with the law, they may be classified into the following groups:(a) Those who, by reason of the nature of the work, render service on Sundays and legal holidays, such as watchmen, special policemen or security guards, warehousemen and the like.(b) Those who, by reason of...
