2009DOLE SAFETY NET PROGRAMSPANGTAWID TULONG-KABUHAYAN PARA SA MGA MANGGAGAWAMindful of the well-being of the Filipino workers, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's Administration, through the Department of Labor and Employment implements safety net programs to help workers cope with the problems and difficulties brought about by social and economic, natural disasters and calamities, peso strengthening and oil price hikes.For workers affected/would-be affected by business closure and slowdown, the DOLE provides assistance for re-employment either as wage, locally or overseas, and self-employed or entrepreneur.For workers affected by natural disasters and calamities, the DOLE provides assistance to meet their daily basic needs through temporary employment.For OFWs affected by peso strengthening and low-wage earners affected, oil price hikes, the DOLE provides assistance for additional sources of income.
