2011ECC-QUICK RESPONSE TEAM PROGRAM (ECC-QRTP)"FACILITATING PROMPT RELEASE OF EC BENEFITS TO ELIGIBLE WORKERS"RationaleTo workers who suffer from work-connected contingencies, or their families who have to deal with work disasters, calamities, accidents or sudden onset of occupational disease or death, immediate help in the form of psycho-social counseling and assistance in the processing/filing and receipt of the appropriate compensation claim is most needed. Given its mandate as the agency responsible for helping workers who are victims of work-related disasters/calamities/diseases and accidents, the ECC is at the forefront of this activity. It is very important for victims of work contingencies to feel the presence of a government agency like the ECC. As part of its mandate, the ECC extends financial assistance to covered employees and/or beneficiaries in case of work-related disasters, calamities, illnesses or injuries. This is in the form of income benefits, hospitalization and rehabilitation services. However, the ECC believes that there is a need for its presence to be felt as soon as such contingencies occur.
