March 31, 2020ECC BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 20-03-07EXPEDITING THE PROCESSING OF EC CLAIMS OF WORKERS FOR DISEASES ACQUIRED IN LINE OF DUTY DURING OUTBREAKS, EPIDEMICS AND PANDEMICSWHEREAS, the primary purpose of P.D. No. 626, as amended, is to provide meaningful protection to workers and/or their families against the perils or hazards of disability or death due to work-related incidents;WHEREAS, there are outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics of diseases where workers become ill as a result of exposure while working inorder to continue providing much needed services to the public;WHEREAS, there is a need for immediate provision of employees' compensation benefits to these workers and/or their families to mitigate risks or prevent or minimize vulnerability;WHEREAS, to hasten the grant of EC benefits to these workers and/or their families, this Commission finds the need to facilitate the processing of their benefits under P.D.
