January 11, 2018DOLE DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 181-A-18EXTENSION ON THE GRANT OF DISPENSATION RELATIVE TO THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL SECURITY IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMENDMENTS IMPLEMENTING REGULATIONS 2.5 AND 4.2 AND APPENDICES OF THE MARITIME LABOUR CONVENTION, 2006 (MLC, 2006)Pursuant to the authority of the Secretary of Labor and Employment to promulgate the necessary rules and regulations under Article 5 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, as amended, Department Order No. 181, Series of 2017, and in compliance with the amendments implementing Regulations 2.5 and 4.2 and appendices of MLC, 2006, the following guidelines on the grant of extension is hereby issued: The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), as the competent Authority in the implementation of MLC, 2006, hereby extends its grant of dispensation to all Philippine Registered Ships (PRS) engaged in international voyage holding a valid Maritime Labour Certificate pertaining to compliance with the aforementioned amendments until such time that the Procedural Guidelines by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has been issued and become effective or before March 31, 2018.Accordingly, all Port...
