July 18, 2019GOVERNING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 07-19WHEREAS, on 01 December 2017, the POEA issued Advisory No. 21, Series of 2017 which provides that Sudan is totally restricted for all skills except for Khartoum and the Kenana Sugar Plantation in the White Nile based on the previous POEA Advisory No. 07, Series of 2005 dated 30 March 2005. The issuances were based on the recommendation of the Philippine mission which has jurisdiction over Sudan, due to unstable peace and order situation thereat; HTcADCWHEREAS, in the Memorandum of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs to the President dated 07 June 2019, it cited that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has raised Alert Level 2 for Sudan due to the current risky and uncertain state of land transport across the country as well as the suspension of airport operations and internet services in Khartoum;WHEREAS, on 11 June 2019, the DFA informed the DOLE Secretary and the members of the Governing Board of the POEA that the DFA has declared Alert Level 2 (Restriction Phase) in Sudan;WHEREAS, upon the...
