May 30, 2014GOVERNING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 08-14WHEREAS, on 23 May 2014, POEA Governing Board Resolution No. 07, Series of 2014 was issued based on the official advice of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) raising the security alert level in Libya to Alert Level 2;WHEREAS, under Alert Level 2, processing and deployment of OFWs is allowed for returning/vacationing workers only;WHEREAS, on 29 May 2014, the DFA further raised the Alert Level in Libya to Alert Level 3 (Voluntary Repatriation Phase) due to the escalating civil unrest in the country;WHEREAS, under Alert Level 3, a total ban on the processing and deployment of all workers is imposed;NOW, THEREFORE, the POEA Governing Board, in a meeting duly convened, RESOLVES AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to impose a total ban on the processing and deployment of all OFWs bound for Libya.For immediate compliance.Done in the City of Manila, Philippines, this 30th day of May 2014.(SGD.)
