December 26, 2013GOVERNING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 15-13WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 10022 authorizes the POEA Governing Board, after consultation with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), to impose a ban on the deployment of Filipino migrant workers in pursuit of national interest or when public welfare so requires; WHEREAS, on 19 August 2013, the Crisis Alert Level in Egypt was raised to Alert Level 4 by the DFA;WHEREAS, Crisis Alert Level 4 shall warrant the mandatory repatriation of OFWs;WHEREAS, POEA GBR No. 10, Series of 2013 dated 10 September 2013 was issued reiterating a total deployment ban to Egypt and directing the POEA to closely coordinate with the DFA, OWWA, deploying licensed agencies and other concerned entities on the immediate and safe repatriation of OFWs in Egypt;WHEREAS, in view of the continued improvement on the political and security situation in Egypt, the Department of Foreign Affairs recommended on 04 November 2013 the lowering of the crisis alert Level in said country from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 (Voluntary Repatriation); SETaHCWHEREAS, on 21 November 2013,...
