2011KAGABAY PROGRAM (KATULONG AT GABAY SA MANGGAGAWANG MAY KAPANSANAN)"HINDI HADLANG ANG KAPANSANAN SA MAGANDANG KINABUKASAN"What is the KAGABAY Program?The Katulong at Gabay sa Mangagawang may Kapansanan or KAGABAY is a special economic assistance program initiated by the Employees' Compensation Commission in 2002 for Occupationally-Disabled Workers (ODWs) who lost employment by reason of work-related sickness or injury. While not all victims of disabling injuries and diseases end up unemployed, still quite a number lose their jobs. This is particularly true for those who suffer from permanent total or partial disabilities. The KAGABAY Program was conceptualized with the end in view of facilitating the ODWs' re-integration into the economic mainstream through physical restoration, vocational skills and entrepreneurial training, job placement, and assistance in the setting up of micro-enterprise or home-based business. The KAGABAY program has three components:1. Physical Restoration which aims to restore the physical and functional capacity of the ODWs through physical and occupational therapy;2.
