KAGABAY PROGRAM(KATULONG AT GABAY SA MANGGAGAWANG MAY KAPANSANAN)The Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan or KAGABAY is a special economic assistance program for occupationally-disabled workers (ODWs) who lost employment by reason of work-related sickness or injury. Objectives:1. To facilitate integration of ODWs into the economic mainstream through physical restoration, training for re-employment or self-entrepreneurship.2. To provide ODWs equal access to livelihood opportunities and assist them in setting-up their own self-managed micro-enterprises or home-based business.Who May Qualify under the KAGABAY Program:1. Workers who are compulsory members of the SSS or GSIS with approved EC disability benefits.2. Sea-based Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with approved EC disability (with manning agency based in the Philippines).Benefits and Services of the Program:1. Physical Restoration which refers to the provision of physical or occupational therapy services to ODWs including assistive devices (leg/arm prosthesis, crutches, hearing aid, etc.)2. Skills Training for re-employment so that the ODW can acquire new skills but subject to the ODWs potentials and residual functional capacity.3. Entrepreneurship Training to accredited training centers to enable the ODW to set...
