April 11, 2018NWPC RESOLUTION NO. 002-18MAINSTREAMING A PRODUCTIVITY AGENDA IN THE COUNTRY'S DEVELOPMENT PLANSWHEREAS, the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) is mandated under Article 121 (b) of the Labor Code as amended by Republic Act No. 6727 or the Wage Rationalization Act to formulate policies and guidelines on wages, income and productivity improvement at the enterprise, industry and national levels; WHEREAS, the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 sets end-of-plan targets for labor productivity at 3-4% in the industry sector and 4-5% in the service sector to achieve the Filipinos' vision of and aspiration for a prosperous, predominantly middle-class society where there is equality of opportunities and poverty has been eradicated;WHEREAS, the NWPC conducted a series of roundtable discussions with productivity and quality experts from government and private sectors on 17 August 2017, 13 September 2017, and 10 November 2017, to expand and deepen knowledge on critical issues affecting the country's productivity growth and competitiveness and to generate inputs to the crafting of productivity agenda of the Department of Labor and Employment;WHEREAS, to widely and...
