March 27, 2020BIR POEA ADVISORY NO. 41-20PANAMA IMPLEMENTS NATIONWIDE MOVEMENT RESTRICTIONSThe public is hereby advised that on 25 March 2020, Panama has enacted nationwide movement restrictions, also referred to as quarantine. All international commercial flights in and out of Panama have been suspended as of 22 March 2020. Exceptions are provided for the movement of cargo, humanitarian, medical supplies, and government aircraft flights. The Decree 504 established that people who break health regulations and quarantines could be fined between $50,000 to $100,000.The Government of Panama also banned all cruise ship passengers from disembarking in Panama.Quarantine Information for Other Type of Ships. The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) requires that ships other than cruise ships coming from countries with a confirmed case(s) of COVID-19 and with crew member(s) exhibiting symptoms must notify the ACP at least 30 days before its arrival and of any crew changes within 14 days of arrival.
